On the homepage appear Major Websites for Skeptics--websites that are widely known in the nonreligious community as resources and support networks. The nucleus of the FFFR website is the Index of Sources and Grandpa Harley's Christian Links.* I met Grandpa Harley on another forum and he was an active member on my forums for a time. He set up the Christian Links. I think for the most part the website is self-explanatory.

The goal of this website-forums complex is to bring together the many scattered nonreligious (fight-the-fundy) networks that exist. Much more networking exists than I knew about when I started. However, one more link in the net can't hurt. I love this project. It widens my own horizons and deepens my own research. I find that the nonreligious community is much larger and better organized than I knew, though it is weak on organization when compared with religion; most of us have been burned too severely by religious organizations to submit to anything remotely resembling a hierarchical architecture or bureaucracy.

As will be obvious to any visitor free software had to be used for the website.** This means ads are scattered throughout at the discretion of freewebs, the provider of the software. I consider freewebs to be one of the better providers of free software on the internet. I had tried another company first, with much frustration, and then freewebs was suggested by a friend who used them. They provide all the tools and make setting up a website almost as easy as setting up forums. I recommend freewebs.

*When copying addresses, please note that from a technological perspective, these are two separate websites or software systems and the addresses are not the same; one is fightingfundamentalism and the other is fighting-fundamentalism. Perhaps this will be changed at some point in the future and the change may not be noted in this post/thread. For this reason, users are wise to take note.

**Free software was used for the forums, too. However, I used a different company for the forums than for the website. While forums come with the website, it seems the companies that specialize in websites do not make as good forums and the companies that specialize in making forums do not make as good websites. I wanted the best quality available for each. This makes for an awkward linking system between the two. The link from the website to the forums is fine, but linking from the forums to the website is awkward and clumsy. I figure when one hasn't got the best the world has to offer, one has to offer the best of what one has got.
