As the forums grow, so must the system for organizing topics. I assume that the more interesting topics attracted more visits than the not-so-interesting topics. For this reason I will rank-order the threads according to number of visits or hits as listed on the index of the homepage of each forum.

I will go through the various sections of the entire forums and list the topics that get the most visits. I have already done this for individual forums, such as General Discussion and Resources. For any forum that has more than one page of topics I made a list of links that I stuck at the top so that people could find the interesting threads more easily. I listed any thread with 100 or more visits. However, some topics attracted several hundred visits while others barely topped one hundred.

In this thread, there will be several posts--each with their own title. This post is the introduction. The next post will contain the Three Most Popular Topics across the entire forums. After that there will be topics of very significant interest but somewhat lower levels of visits than the three most popular ones. For the convenience of readers, I will also copy the Index posts from the individual forums. Thus, the posts will be rank-ordered, too. In this way, this thread will serve as a guide for new-comers to the most interesting material on the forums, even though it is hidden away in some cubby-hole or cranny.

This forum of Our Best is closed to member posting. Member comments are welcome in the Let's Talk forum.

EDITED to change names of forums to reflect changes made on homepage. The Lab and Lab Tools have been changed to more conventional names as follows:

 • The Lab is now General Discussion
 • Lab Tools is now Resources

The rest of the posts in this thread (but not in the entire forums) will also be edited to reflect these changes.

Fundamentalism

With 800 hits, far and away the most popular topic is the thread Ideas Needed: How to Change a Fundamentalist's Mind. Any thread with the word "fundamentalism"--or related words--in the title gets very many visits.

Bible

The area of most highly concentrated interest is the forum on the Bible. Of the 23 topics, one topic got over five hundred hits and another topic got over 490. That is more than one thousand visits to the Bible forum for those two threads alone.
God

The other topic, arguably just as popular, is that of God. It has 17 topics. One is pushing upwards of 600 views.

However, another thread got over 200 and a third got over 300. These threads will be linked below.

This makes God, Bible, and fundamentalist religion VERY IMPORTANT for visitors to these forums. Given that these forums are owned, administrated, and visited by atheists, as well as Christians of many varieties (see Who Are Our Visitors, this should cause religionists to rethink their religion. Does their religion do what it is supposed to do, i.e. make the world a better place? It is, after all, the squeaky wheel that gets the oil--and the world's trouble-makers who get the attention.

Conclusion

If we base the popularity--or visitor interest--of a forum on "average views per topic," then we conclude that Religious Studies are of great importance to our visitors. The popularity of the Announcements forum is probably due to our history; FFFR forums crashed and had to be rebuilt. People were directed to a notice board from one or two other forums--I forget the details but they are recorded in the Announcements forum for interested parties.

After Religious Studies, visitors seem especially interested in God and the Bible. General Discussion and Resources rank fairly low on the scale. I deduce from this analysis that visitors are seriously seeking for truth, and for a reliable source on truth. Perhaps my readers want to know how we as vulnerable and limited human beings in a vast and unpredictable universe can know what is reliable.

Though this is a somewhat unexpected conclusion I think my work is cut out for me.

July 1: Edited to correct errors and improve format.
July 2: Edited to change names of forums to reflect changes made on homepage.

Just now I found a Middling Thread in the Let's Talk forum. I should have checked. It's an old thread from General Discussions, Why Do God And The Bible Have To Be Defended? with a total of 211 views.

The same topics continue to hold top place but their order has changed. Somebody must have been using the thread about the inerrant word of God for research. I looked it up just now and it contains quite a bit of scholarly information that students might find valuable as leads for more information.

I see that in June people liked the Religious Studies section. What people seem to want is solid and reliable information.
