There's two relatively new parts on these forums. One, "Bible," has been here for a while. Just now I added a part for "God." The rational behind it is that these seem to be two topics rather distinct from the general discussion of fundamentalist religion, and they seem to keep cropping up time and again.

To readers who don't follow me on the other forums where I post regularly, it may seem like the ideas all develop in a vacuum in my own head but they don't. I am constantly in conversation with others--both Christian theologians that I am reading for my studies and exChristians on other forums. Once in a while Christian evangelists also visit those forums so I talk with them, too. In addition, I talk with people in real life, too, once in a while.

The things that end up on these forums are items that I think might be of special benefit to the cause for which these forums exist, of general interest to readers here.

As you may have noticed, today I added another forum to this set-up by name Pressure Cooker. This will allow both ex-religionists and religionists to talk about their concerns and grievances outside the constraints of the more polite conversations in the General forum.

If preference seems to be given to the ex-religionist, this is not unintentional. In the real world religion rules supreme. In cyberspace, there are innumerable websites and forums promoting religion. It is only right that there are a few safe places for deconverts to vent. On the forum for Deconversion Stories, Christians and other fundamentalist religionists are not allowed to post.

If you believe in hell, or some kind of negative consequences (as in Karma, etc. in some Eastern religions) due to the way this life was lived, then I consider you a fundamentalist. You are asked not to post in the Deconversion Stories.

"Our Best" forum was set up the other day. The objective is to highlight the best aspects of the FFFR website-forums complex so that visitors can find the gold without digging through all the dross. I build on the premise that the threads with the most visits contain the most valuable or interesting information, as the case may be. A curious play on words comes out of this: "God" has a "total of 562 views." See the third post in Topics That Attract.

If "God" has been viewed half a thousand times--which agrees with the NT (Jesus was avowedly seen by about half a thousand people after his resurrection) must I change my position that there is no evidence for God???

On a more serious note, Our Best is closed to member posting. Member comments are welcome in the Let's Talk forum. I started one thread but others can be started by any member.
